The Mystery of Christiane Stewart, Melsetter, Hoy, Orkney 1550 - 1615 ? 

Christiane Stewart (aka Christian Stewart) was the wife of Adam Mudie/Mudye of Breckness, Orkney.

I am pretty sure that Adam Mudie is my 9th great grandfather. One of his sons, Robert Mudie, emigrated to Norway about 1630. But who was Robert Mudie's mother? At geni.com Christiane Stewart has been unlinked from Robert Stewart, 1st Earl of Orkney, which is correct. I will try to make a summary (mostly for myself?)

She was the first Christiane/Christian Stewart linked as wife to Adam Mudie. Later it is proved that she was NOT. She married John Mouat of Hougland, Shetland. "Christian, married to John Mouat of Hougaland in Shetland, and, as his widow, was living, and in feud with her brother-in-law, in 1634." Grizel is also mentioned in the book: The Scots Peerage. "Grizel, married before 27 December 1591 to Hugh Sinclair of Brugh in Shetland.8"  No! She was NOT.

The Mudie/Moodie family plays an important role in some of the chapters - about 1600. Preliminary name: The Testament.
